Websites for hotels, villas and tourism businesses in Greece

If you need a hotel website, a rooms-to-let website, a villa website or a boat-rental website, the job is not a corporate brochure with good photography. It is a site that shows what is available, in the language the guest reads, and how they book without leaving for an OTA.

Bytesoft builds custom Next.js/React sites from Patras. The main website service covers corporate presence. This page applies that model to hospitality: properties, fleets, bilingual EL/EN, and markup Google can read as a lodging business — no catalogue prices, no unpublished client names.

Who this is for

Rooms to let that currently live on Booking or Airbnb and want their own URL, with clear units, photos per room, and a form or booking connection. Small and mid-size hotels that need room-type pages, seasons and cancellation policy in readable copy, not a PDF. Villas and holiday homes — often one or a few units, high value per stay — where mobile speed and trust before a deposit matter.

Boat-rental and vehicle-rental companies: fleet or categories, seasons, pick-up point, a path to an enquiry or a booking. If the next step is checkout with payment and stock, that belongs on the e-shop service, not here.

Why a booking-driven site is not a corporate site

A corporate site answers who you are and sends people to a form or a phone number. An accommodation site answers whether those dates are free, at what rate, in which language. Availability changes within a week. Seasonality changes the photo, the price and the message from April to August. If the site cannot be updated, the operator either leaves wrong facts online or stops touching it.

Direct booking only wins if it is easier than the OTA on a phone. We do not publish conversion rates we have not measured on your URL. We publish the structure: one primary action per unit page, a measurable form or a clear booking-engine connection, Core Web Vitals before go-live.

Traffic is mobile-first because that is how guests search — from the port, the beach, a Messenger thread. Desktop is for the owner and for longer briefs. QA is on real devices, not only in the inspector.

Bilingual as a first-class requirement, not a plugin

For lodging in Greece the second language is almost always English. That means separate URLs, a hreflang triplet (el-GR, en, x-default), metadata and a sitemap per language — the same model this site uses. It is not auto-translation inside one URL. A plugin that fills English from Greek without editing produces pages both guests and Google read as noise.

The second language is priced as its own scope: who writes, who edits, which pages come first (units, terms, cancellation). A third language follows the same rule when there is real demand.

Integration surface: booking, channels, payments

Three system kinds show up in almost every hospitality brief. A booking engine: the guest sees dates and books without email. A channel manager: a calendar that syncs OTAs and the direct channel so you do not double-book. A payment provider: deposit, balance, refunds — with the rules the business sets, not a payment button without a flow.

We describe categories, not product names we have not shipped. The Bytesoft repo documents named integrations for e-shop and ERP (SoftOne, Pegasus, Skroutz, and payments as a shop category). It does not document a named lodging booking engine or channel manager as a delivered product. If you already have a system, discovery records the API, webhook or embed; if you do not, we design an availability form until a real engine exists. We do not promise a connection to software we have not seen.

LodgingBusiness structured data

schema.org LodgingBusiness (and a more specific type when it fits, such as Hotel) tells engines the entity is lodging: name, address, geography, public phone, amenities and category when those facts are true. Without it, a gallery is just a company website. With it, Google has a structured description of the property.

We do not guarantee a rich result, a map pack or a ranking. Schema is part of technical handover, like the sitemap and hreflang — not a separate “SEO package”. The wrong type (Hotel for two rooms) or a fake rating is worse than omitting it. We mark up what is true.

Accessibility and hospitality

The European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549 place duties on digital services in the EU. Sites that take bookings — hotels, rooms to let, fleet platforms — are not exempt because they are small. We design toward WCAG 2.2 AA: semantic HTML, keyboard use, contrast, form labels and errors that do not vanish. This is not legal advice, and a public accessibility statement is a separate deliverable if you need one.

In hospitality, accessibility is also commercial: the guest on a phone has to reach the form. Same goal as Core Web Vitals — measured before go-live.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build websites for rooms to let or small hotels?

Yes. The same model covers rooms to let, small and mid-size hotels, villas and holiday homes, plus boat-rental and vehicle-rental firms. Scope locks at discovery: property or fleet pages, languages, and whether you need an availability form or a booking-engine connection.

Why is an accommodation site different from a corporate site?

Because the visitor arrives with dates. They need availability, seasonal rates, or at least a clear path to book — not only an about page. Traffic is mostly mobile. Direct booking reduces OTA dependence; the site has to make that path real.

Does the site have to be bilingual?

For tourism in Greece, almost always: Greek and English as two real languages, with correct hreflang — not plugin auto-translation. The second language is a separate scope: briefing, URLs, metadata — not an unbriefed extra.

Do you connect a booking engine or channel manager?

We connect what discovery names: a booking engine, a channel manager or a payment provider as a system category. We do not name a specific product here unless we have already shipped that integration. If you also sell goods, that belongs on the e-shop service.

What does LodgingBusiness schema do?

It tells Google the page is a lodging business: name, address, type, amenities when those facts are true. It helps entity understanding — it does not guarantee rankings or a knowledge panel. We implement it on the client site; Bytesoft is not itself a lodging business.

Does the European Accessibility Act apply to hotels and rentals?

The EAA covers many digital products and services in the EU, including sites that take bookings. We design toward WCAG 2.2 AA. This is not legal advice; a public accessibility statement is in scope only if you ask for it.

Can the same brand also have an e-shop, for example for vehicle rental?

If there is a catalogue to sell or rent with checkout and payment, that is a separate e-shop service — catalogue, payments, ERP if needed. The accommodation site stays the property or fleet presence and the booking path.

Do you work remotely with islands?

Yes. Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Corfu and Aegean islands follow the same remote model as the rest of Greece outside Achaia: remote kickoff, staging and repository handover. An on-site visit only when it adds something.
